Howdy Fellow Rocketeers!
SCORE is a go for launch Saturday May 4th, 2024 from 8am to 4pm as long as the weather allows! Join us at Stealey Memorial Launch Site at Hudson Ranch. For specific directions please see https://scronline.net/ flying-site/ Close the gate behind you as you come onto the Range! There are livestock that we cannot let out! Tell your friends, family members, students etc!
Set up will start at 730am. The more the merrier when it comes to set up and tear down. Don’t know how? We will teach you! SCORE encourages every rocketeer to be familiar with the launch equipment to prevent damage to the equipment.
The Safety Brief will be at 8am. If you are not on site by 8am that’s ok! We have safety information posted at every launch! Let’s work together to keep rocketry safe!
Range Safety will evaluate the range on Saturday morning to decide if Sparky motors will be allowed. If you intend on flying a sparky please verify that it is allowed before prepping your rocket. We recommend having an alternate motor to fly just in case.
Waiver is 12,000 ft AGL with a 2 NM radius of recovery area.
All flyers must sign in at the rocket check-in (RSO) table. A parent or guardian must sign for minors. This is a change to previous launches where only high-power flyers had to sign. This is for the landowner.
Please lend a hand! Volunteers are always NEEDED to check rockets, run LCO, help on the range with setup and breakdown, as well as help with certifications. Members and visiting rocketeers can always volunteer. EVERY rocketeer can volunteer in one way or another!
CERTIFICATIONS
- If you are attempting a certification, put your name on the cert signup sheet at the table by the shed and sign the high power waiver.
- If you are bringing someone to attempt a certification or know someone attempting a certification, ask them to put their name on the cert signup sheet.
- There are expected to be several TRA and NAR cert attempts this weekend.
- Certifiers will go in the order in which rocketeers sign up! NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Teachers and Mentors: Please help with enforcing range safety!
We will have a club meeting after the range is shut down and packed up. This will allow as many as many flights as possible before the wind picks up. All members are welcome to attend!
Become a member of score at SCRonline.net! $20 for an individual membership or $25 for a family membership. Visiting high power flyers that are not members, the fee is $5, this helps maintain our launch system, rails, and the land we fly on. If you are unsure of your membership status, we can check for you, just respond to this email and ask us to check!
See you on the range!
